I love this queer community so dearly and have never had so much fun doing this much work!!! It's amazing to be part of a community organizing team that supports each other so deeply and prioritizes joy, play, rest & care. words can't fully describe how this community makes me feel, but heard, seen, and held are some of the ones that come close. this community reminds me of the vast lineage we as queer people are part of, and has filled my life with sunshine during my darkest days. what began as discussions and discourse has transformed into something so solid, hearty, and life-affirming. i can't believe that thinking taylor swift is gay has lead me to the coolest, sweetest, funniest, and smartest people in the world but here i am!

This community is everything to me. I used to enjoy Taylor's music by myself when I was younger, but it was hard to connect with her in later years. The Archers’ Podcast and their lovely hosts were my entry to so many things Gaylor and beyond. Madyson’s TikTok introduced me to Gaylor as a concept and the following 48 hours after that initial discovery were a mind blowing whirlwind. Katie quite literally set me on my own path to self-spiritualism using Tarot, which lead me to Human/Energy Design, then Astrology and I am now working towards opening up my own services soon. My shared picture is an owl I painted inspired by a reading I had from Katie! I’ve only been in the Gaylor community for a year, but have made so many wonderful connections. With the help of my lovely friend and co-host Erin, we host a super fun weekly mystical evening called Moonstone Monday. I have also learned so much queer history that I would never have found on my own. This community has helped me feel so connected to my sacred identity and heritage as a queer person. I am so fortunate to be part of this year’s GayloreFest planning team and cannot wait to create more inside jokes with those in attendance this year!

This community means so much to me. It’s truly the most intersectional and purely democratic group I’ve ever belonged to. As someone who’s queer, got long covid, and neurodivergent, I know what it’s like to be on the outside of groups but I always feel included and valued as a member of the team, no matter what. We care for one another in a way that feels radical to me. Love you all so much.

In my day-to-day life I am accountable to so many others - my beautiful wife and son, the blood and chosen family I share a compound homestead with, our farm animals, my colleagues and clients, and the dozens of strangers whose energy I can't seem to ignore or distance myself from. This community- this beautiful, vibrant, resilient, and kind community, has been my respite. It's my own little thing I get to hyper-fixate on each night.. where I get to retreat to a cozy spot and read, listen, and watch content that brings me closer to my queer history and my queer now. These people humble me, inspire me, and hold me with no regard for what I can produce or give in return. I feel like I can be part of preserving and passing down queer folklore, celebrate the big and small wins, and just be unbelievably weird. I am counting down the days until I can experience that magic in person, in our own little queer lore summer school camp.
